Dr. Nina WElls, lcsw

owner and therapist

Nina holds degrees in Social Work at the Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral levels. In her 7+ years as a clinician, the tenets of empowerment and advocacy at the core of Social Work drive Nina’s collaborative approach with clients. Therapeutic work with Nina will center around the belief that emotion and behavior are often adaptive responses to what we have lived through, rather than something that is inherently “wrong”.

Nina takes pride in providing a safe and welcoming space for all her clients. Notably, she is a safe and informed clinician for LGBTQ+ clients and allies. With advocacy at the forefront of her values, she organizes the Annual Bowling Green Pride Raffle and volunteers for the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project.

She believes therapy should be a collaborative process and helps clients formulate and work toward goals that are important to them. No need to be nervous about moving too fast—you control the pace of your work.

Outside of the office, Nina is a part-time instructor at The University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University in their Master of Social Work programs and enjoys investing in the next generations of social workers. She is an avid home cook, tulip lover, and coonhound snuggler.
